Funsolve Founder and Industry Veteran Richard Tawn Leads Development Team on first major Multi-platform Project;  Funsolve looks to double team size with five positions currently open to cater for two year project on new IP

Rugby, UK 19th September 2018: Midlands-based development studio Funsolve today announces a partnership with family entertainment publisher Outright Games, securing a seven-figure  investment to develop a new multi-platform project of a major IP over the next two years and further funding for a second project to commence in 2020.  The collaboration comes as part of Outright Games’ continued drive to expand development partners as part of their multi-million pound  investment plans.

The announcement follows Funsolve’s move to new premises in Rugby to cater to the growing team, the studio estimates to expand upwards of 50% over the next six months. Five positions are currently open which include programming, art and QA.

Funsolve launched in 2015 as a work for hire studio, by industry veteran Richard Tawn, with a focus on providing exceptional creative and professional services to developers and publishers at all stages of game development. The studio’s recent work includes: Sonic Forces: Speed Battle with SEGA, SAMSARA with Marker Studio and Crayola Scoot with Outright Games.

Outright Games is renowned for securing globally-recognised licences to produce high-quality interactive-entertainment for all the family to enjoy. The publisher first worked with Funsolve at the early stages of development subsequent to the acquisition of the Crayola licence to define ideas for upcoming title Crayola Scoot. The new partnership comes in part due to the success of this association

With over 20 years’ experience in the games industry, Richard builds on experience gained at senior positions at SEGA, Codemasters and award-winning independent studio Exient Entertainment. Over the course of his career, he has worked across globally recognised brands including multiple Sonic the Hedgehog titles, Angry Birds, Sega Rally, Aliens as well as working to develop new concepts and overseeing multiple studios.

The new venture developed in partnership with Outright Game will be their first major multi-format project and entirely developed by Funsolve. “Richard and his team are passionate and talented developers who understand and share Outright Games’ ethos and mission.  We look forward to working together and can’t wait to be able to share this project with the wider community.” Said Terry Malham, CEO, Outright Games.
